Appreciate Opera's 5 Steps to learn about an opera!
Step 1: Think of all the operas you know. If you don't know any, ask a friend!
Step 2: Check out the synopsis on Wikipedia!
Step 3: Listen to an 'aria' from one of those operas— enough times so that you can hum it!
Step 4: Listen to another piece from that opera!
Step 5: Repeat steps 3-4, then go see if they're playing that opera at your local opera house!
My name is Alkis Karmpaliotis, and I am a Junior at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York. I founded AppreciateOpera.org in 2019, when I was 12, with the purpose of sharing my love for opera with the world and encouraging other children to give opera a shot.
