It was recently announced by the Vienna Philharmonic that Latvian conductor Andris Nelsons will conduct the 2024 Sommernachtskonzert at Schönbrunn Palace for the second time (his first was in 2022), following Yannick Nézet-Séguin's wonderful showing in 2023. The concert will take place on Friday, June 7, at 8:30 PM CET.

The program is packed with an incredible assortment of styles, from operas to tone poems, containing works by Wagner, Smetana, Verdi, Augusta Holmès, Khachaturian, and even Shostakovich. Maestro Nelsons will be joined by soprano Lise Davidsen, one of the world's best operatic stars, who will showcase her versatility by singing challenging pieces by several different composers, from Wagner to Verdi.
