Vote for the BBC Music Magazine Awards!

Writer: Alkis KarmpaliotisAlkis Karmpaliotis

The annual BBC Music Magazine Awards celebrate some of the best orchestral performances recorded over the previous year. There are nine main categories, each with three nominees. The winners are selected by a public vote.

One of the most intriguing races this year is the Orchestral Award. The nominees are: Grossman Ensemble and Tim Weiss performing Augusta Read Thomas's Terpsichore's Box of Dreams; Czech Philharmonic and Semyon Bychkov performing Smetana's Má Vlast; and Frankfurt Radio Symphony and Paavo Järvi performing Schoenberg and Fauré. My vote goes to Augusta Read Thomas and the Grossman Ensemble, both for Thomas's imaginative score and for the Grossman Ensemble's deeply immersive interpretation and performance. You can find more information and cast your ballot for this award here!
